Tidewater

Whatever came off our pier that afternoon, cooked simply and served fast. The menu is printed daily because it has to be.

Raw bar · $$

Gulf oysters shucked at the counter, cold beer, and a hot sauce shelf that has got out of hand. Sit at the ice and watch the shuckers work.

Creole · $$$

Gumbo that takes two days, blackened drum, and a bread pudding people drive over from Gulfport for. The bar makes a serious Sazerac.

Bakery & coffee · $

Open before the boats leave. Beignets, chicory coffee, and a breakfast biscuit that has no business being that good.

Beach bar · $$

Sand underfoot, frozen drinks, and a grill doing burgers and grouper sandwiches until late. Live music Thursday through Sunday.

Practical

Every kitchen keeps an allergen matrix at the pass and every menu is available in large print. Tell whoever seats you and they will tell the kitchen.

Welcome everywhere except the gaming floor and the bars after 8 PM. There is a proper children's menu rather than three fried things.

Full vegetarian and vegan options at every venue, not a single substitution, and gluten-free bread made rather than bought in.

There is no dress code anywhere. We ask for smart dress in one room late in the evening and we ask it kindly.
